Mr. Douglas G. Klatt
Mr. Klatt received his BA in history from Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois
in 1992. Since graduating, Mr. Klatt has traveled extensively throughout Mexico,
Central America, Europe and Asia, participating in service projects and teaching
assignments in locales as exotic as New Delhi, India with the Sisters of
Charity. He received his Masters Degree in history from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City in 2003. His thesis was about the idea of the
"Conquest as crusade" in the work of one of the chroniclers of the Conquest of
Mexico. Throughout his travels he realized his passion for teaching which led
him to Northridge Preparatory School in Illinois in 1998. There he taught
history, philosophy, and Spanish for three years. Deciding to focus on language,
he moved on to Glenbrook South High School where he has been teaching Spanish
for the past five years. He coordinates the school’s foreign language focus
group and heads up the technology committee. Klatt is also certified to teach
French. He currently lives in Highland Park, Illinois with his wife and four
children.
Mr. Klatt is also an accomplished singer, musician and composer and teaches
music in his spare time. |
