Mr. Douglas G. Klatt

Mr. Klatt received his BA in history from Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois in 1992. Since graduating, Mr. Klatt has traveled extensively throughout Mexico, Central America, Europe and Asia, participating in service projects and teaching assignments in locales as exotic as New Delhi, India with the Sisters of Charity. He received his Masters Degree in history from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City in 2003. His thesis was about the idea of the "Conquest as crusade" in the work of one of the chroniclers of the Conquest of Mexico. Throughout his travels he realized his passion for teaching which led him to Northridge Preparatory School in Illinois in 1998. There he taught history, philosophy, and Spanish for three years. Deciding to focus on language, he moved on to Glenbrook South High School where he has been teaching Spanish for the past five years. He coordinates the school’s foreign language focus group and heads up the technology committee. Klatt is also certified to teach French. He currently lives in Highland Park, Illinois with his wife and four children.

Mr. Klatt is also an accomplished singer, musician and composer and teaches music in his spare time.
